Welcome to the Poltimore Parish Council website

Reminder regarding the Electoral Register
If you are 18 or over you must by law* be registered. You may register at any time after your 16th birthday but cannot vote at the General Election on May 7th unless you are at least 18. You must be on the Electoral Register (also called the Electoral Roll) even if you do not intend to vote. You are NOT automatically registered because you may pay Council Tax. You should have received a canvass form in the last couple of months which you should have completed.
If you have any doubts (you have recently changed your name, address etc), phone the helpline 01395 517402 or complete the on-line form -

*The Representation of the People (England and Wales) Regulations 2001

We have been advised that the existing 5 street lights in the Parish of Poltimore will shortly be be changed from the current sodium (yellow) lights to white LED (Light Emitting Diode) units and will be a little brighter. The change is being made in an effort to reduce the cost of electricity and also reduce the carbon footprint. Other sodium street lights in adjacent areas will also be changing to white LEDs. In some adjacent areas, a selected number of street lighting units will be switched off during the night, but this will not effect Poltimore.
